Days of straw
Accessories with nature look: straw, raffia and other au naturel materials were showcased in Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana and Bottega Veneta shows for Summer 2010.
Scarf it up
Scarves were a must have on the runway from Marni, Marc Jacobs, Nina Ricci and Roberto Cavalli. You can tie it around your head, in your hair or around your neck, as a cheaper variant chain.
Silverware
All your gold jewelry can take a well needed rest this season, we saw many striking silver jewelry pieces on the catwalks making Silver a must have piece to accessorize your outfit. Yves Saint Lauren, Vera Wang and Lanvin accessorized their collection with Silverware for Summer 2010.
Plastic fantastic
Plastic transparent and accessories, many at the summer ’10 shows. Plastic was a key accessory for Prada, Burberry Prorsum and Michael Kors.
Animal Print
This season we frequently see the animal prints back and especially the tigers and snakes do well. On show at Lanvin and D & G Summer 2010 runways. You can find fabulous animal prints from one of my favorite local Miami designers Adriana Castro.
Ethnic influences
Alexander McQueen and Bottega Veneta had thrown themselves on the ethnic angle, especially the African influence was clearly visible, with colored stones and bags on the runways for Summer 2010.
Sunglasses
The sunglasses are always hip on the runway, but they are back with a new: 80’s style. Fendi and Marni created a touch of elegance with a large bold hipster style on the runway.
