Traveling is a priority in my book it allows us to disconnect to recharge our batteries and resume life at full steam. Traveling to the Caribbean has to be one of my top locations to escape, regardless if it’s laying in the sun, sipping on a frozen daiquiri, and disconnecting from society. While researching for a new place to stay I ran across RIU Hotels & Resorts. I took the chance of trying something new and booked my stay at RIU Montego Bay. I traveled on Caribbean Airlines and booked my stay in one of their ocean front suites.
From the moment I landed I was disappointed with the weather, no one warned me that traveling to the Caribbean in the autumn season may lead to a rainy vacation. When I arrived at the Resort the staff was eager to please and did not stop at anything to make us feel welcomed while reassuring us that regardless of the weather we would enjoy our vacation. The Resort was vibrant in color and in the atmosphere with Caribbean music playing in the background.
Our room was perfectly nestled in the corner of the ocean front building. The description of the room on the website was precise, to my surprise I was shocked to see a welcome note with birthday wishes and a dessert treat. I was shocked that the person that booked our reservation took my casual “Birthday” comment to note and requested such a detail. The room was serviced everyday and up-kept with an unlimited of amount of both nonalcoholic beverages and alcoholic beverages to enjoy.
When it came to dinning or snacking the amount of options they had would aim to please every appetite. There were several restaurants from buffet style to your traditional sit-down dinner. After my first day on the resort I became obsessed with the beachside Jerk Chicken grill and the beach side Coconut drink station.
The resort spared no expense on entertainment with a team on hand to occupy your time and keep your day busy. Even though the weather was not perfect, my short vacation was memorable thanks to the amazing staff unhand at the resort. I can truly say that I would recommend this resort as one of my favorites.
