Adidas has announced “Sports Infinity” a new program that will recycle your sports gear. The ambassador for this new initiative is none other then the great Lionel Messi. As a soccer mom who has invested an endless amount of money into my sons soccer equipment year after year, a program such as “Sports Infinity” would be ideal. Just imagine the thought of having to purchase just one pair of cleats that you can design and create changes endlessly. The coolest part of the program is that you would have the opportunity to have your design incorporated with old parts of Messi’s old cleats and will be created with a unique 3-D material.
“The football boots of the future could contain everything from carbon used in aircraft manufacturing to fibers of the boots that scored during the World Cup,” Adidas said in a statement.
“I am proud that Adidas is working to make sure that all of their boots, including mine, are being made in a way that protects the environment. For me, this is the future of football,” Messi said.
I am sure that I am not the only one interested in seeing what the finished product would look like, how safe and durable they would be, and what the cost of these “Infinity” shoes would be for a consumer. They have my son sold at the thought of wearing Messi’s old shoes, but is this product affordable to the average consumer.
