I recently had the opportunity to visit Washington DC as an adult for the first time, I was extremely excited on planning my trip because I love learning about different times in history and as a history buff Washington DC is like Disney to me. When researching hotels I wanted to stay at a location that was centralized to everything. I chose The George hotel for my stay, it was pet friendly and I was able to bring my Yorkie, Simba if I could not find a sitter for him. Living in New York the drive to Washington DC is fairly easy as long as you can dodge prime time traffic in both New York and in DC. The minute we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by the friendly Valet staff and complimentary glasses of wine at the happy hour being held in the main lobby. There is nothing negative to say about this Kimpton Selection, the attention to detail in the rooms is to be spoken of. The rooms decor reminded you of the history of the town, the beds were very comfortable, the leopard robes in the closet were very chic, they even had umbrellas for the guest just incase it rained. The staff was very helpful when it came to helping plan our way around town. The hotel’s restaurant Bistro Bis served the best breakfast potatoes that I have tasted with the amazing breakfast platters. There is so much to do and see in DC, everything on my list was not accomplished. I will planning another visit soon and this Kimpton hotel will be back on my list.
