Growing up I was very fortunate that my strong working parents were able to maintain my Barbie obsession. I can remember having the latest Barbie to hit shelfs, waiting for Christmas morning to unwrap the newest Barbie mansion or car but one thing that I noticed was that these Barbie’s I admired as a child looked nothing like me at the end of the day. I am a Latina, curvy, brown eyes, and once brown hair, nothing close to what Barbie represented. Those days are far from over, Barbie has been revolutionized with a Barbie Collection that will resemble us all regardless our shade of skin, hair color, or our skin tone. The new Barbie has arrived and finally represents the everyday female with a new collection to hit stores on January 28 as the Fashionistas line is extended with new body types tall, curvy, and petite and a variety of skin tones, hair styles, and outfits.
