Midi skirts are not new to the fashion scene, this trend is the perfect way to have the all so needed ladylike piece in your closet. The midi skirt can be styled in many ways depending on the occasion, but the key idea behind selecting the perfect piece is to make sure that although it may look great on the hanger or on the mannequin it is important that it fits your body type. I recently had the experience of hunting down the perfect midi skirt for the Spring season, after several hours in multiple stores I found the perfect piece and have created tips of what to look for that will benefit you in those shopping travels.
Details: The midi skirt should stand out as the signature piece of your entire outfit, you should play around with hues, prints or stripes. If you are looking for a lean look then you should be looking for a wrap style skirt that will create a tighter fit. If selecting a style that is bold in color or prints is not something your comfortable with then try a slit.
Balance: I rarely wear a tight or snug fit blouse, so one of the key issues I had to overcome when shopping for my midi skirt is that balance was the main idea to creating the perfect outfit. You simply can’t wear a loose blouse and have it hanging over the skirt, it created the outfit to appear messy. You must balance out the outfit by combing the midi skirt with a blouse that is not loose and the blouse must tuck it in completely or partially.
Length: A midi skirt doesn’t fit us all the same, the main idea when finding the perfect fit is that the hemline should land right below the knee.
