The harsh winter weather can be damaging for your hair regardless on how healthy it appears. The frigid temperatures and windy days can cause your scalp to become dry and flaky. Your hair can become dull, statically, and begin to loose its shape after wearing winter hats as they trap heat. As the spring season arrives it’s important to treat your hair to a mask or condition to help hydrate and repair the damage while also preparing your hair for the summer high heat temperature days.
Here are some of my favorite DIY masks you can prepare at home and say goodbye to winter hair:
Avocado: An avocado mask is ideal for dry and dull hair. It will immediately hydrate your hair, create smooth, and softs locks. Take a ripe avocado, with 1/2 a cup of milk, 1 tablespoon of almond oil, blend it together. Then massage the mixture onto your scalp to the end of your hair and place a hair cap on your head. Rinse with cool water after 10 minutes and let your hair air dry.
Banana: A banana mask is perfect for dry scalp. It will boost back your scalp into healthy shape. Blend 2 full ripe bananas, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, and 1 tablespoon of honey. Apply directly onto your hair massage into your scalp in circular motions then place a hair cap on your head. Rinse with warm water after 15 minutes and let your hair air dry.
Strawberries: A Strawberry mask is the perfect healing ingredient for hair frizz, dandruff, and dullness. Blend 5 strawberries, half a cup of plain yogurt, 1 egg, and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil. Apply the mixture onto your hair then place a hair mask on your head. Rinse after 10 minutes with cool water and let your hair dry.
