Memorial Day Weekend With Protection

I can remember the days when planning for Memorial Day Weekend meant heading to the beach with family and friends to enjoy fun in the sun. As a mother of three children with one of them playing travel soccer, all holiday weekends are spent traveling with my son experiencing a different fun in the sun as I turn into the ultimate fan rooting for my son’s team. Regardless of where you enjoy the sun protecting your skin and selecting the perfect sunscreen should be the first thing on your packing list.

I am sure that many parents can relate that getting your children to apply sunscreen may sound like a daunting task, but children respond well to routine. From a young age, my children knew that once the summer weather arrived meant that they needed to applying sunscreen before leaving the house. Even on the days when I was overwhelmed with juggling the daily schedules for each of them they would remind me that they needed sunscreen. The experts say that the healthy habits we teach our children from a young age are with them for life and will be practiced as adults.

Receiving my package with goodies from Neutrogena right before my soccer tournament filled Memorial Day Weekend felt like Christmas in May. Being apart of my son’s soccer team feels like having an extended family with sixteen additional children. When preparing for the tournaments I always prepare myself and bring extra supplies just in case anyone forgets the essentials and with my package from Neutrogena and being a part of the #ChooseSkinHealth Campaign I was more than prepared to protect the entire team.

Neutrogena’s CoolDry Sport Sunscreen was able to keep up with the multiple games my son was playing in the high temperatures filled with nothing but the sun in the sky. This sunscreen is designed with a micromesh technology that allows you to sweat naturally without compromising your sun protection and the ultimate benefit is that it does not leave the usual sticky residue that you feel when applying sunscreen.

While rooting for the team to score the perfect sunscreen for me was Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Face and Body Stick Sunscreen that was perfect for me to keep in my pocket just in case any parents needed sunscreen. The convenience of keeping my hands clean after applying my sunscreen was perfect and yet the best benefit is that this sunscreen is designed with a clinically-proven Helioplex Technology that protects from skin-aging UVA rays and skin-burning UVB rays with a non-shiny finish.

Nothing beats being able to create long lasting memories with my children and team family while seeing a happy group of children who put teamwork to the test that completed the weekend with a  victory. While being protected from the harsh sun’s rays with Neutrogena by their side made for a memorable Memorial Day Weekend.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Neutrogena and Latina Bloggers Connect. The opinions and text are all mine.

They say flowers, allow your home and life to bloom with new things. Here is a quick DIY with a little St. Patrick’s Day theme.

1. I prepare my flowers by cutting the bottom tips and remove the leaves.
2. I then create a mock sample of what I want the flower bouquet to look like, I remove it, and save it on the side.
3. I chose to use General Mills Lucky Charms for this arrangement.
4. I place plastic wrap on the top of the small vase to help pour the lucky charms only into the large vase.
5. Once I completed pouring the lucky charms into the large vase, I then place my premade bouquet into the base and add water and flower food.
6. I then arrange the flowers with a bit of love, and then they’re all set.

Conquering my fears …
On our trip to Hawaii, the boys wanted to do excursions - swimming with the Dolphins was on the top of the list. Although I think dolphins are amazing animals I had an internal fear on how this can go wrong. You can’t see it in the picture but I was panicking inside. So HAPPY I had the experience. It was amazing! The staff was extremely supportive throughout the whole thing.
