Your makeup brushes are overworked and we tend to disregard the proper maintenance that they should be given. We quickly apply our makeup and toss them back into a drawer or into our makeup bag, sometimes never thinking twice. The longer the brushes are used with all the high traffic usage we can give them and no proper cleaning being done. The more makeup residue, oil, and dirt you are applying on your face along with your makeup. There are several easy techniques and products that you can use to keep your brushes freshly cleaned.
Here are some of my favorite products and a DIY tip for cleaning your brushes at home:
Warm Water, Baby Shampoo, and Olive Oil: Take your brushes individually and run them under warm water slowly massaging the bristles away from the handle. Pour a handful of Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo in the palm of your hand create a lather, add a pinch of olive oil and swirl the brushes into the lather, then rinse with lukewarm water, squeeze out the water from the brushes, dry with a lint-free cloth and let stand.
