The wearing of dark lipstick hues is about to kick into full gear with the fall season arriving. The biggest issue to tackle when wearing dark colors is the smearing or bleeding that can happen on your lips if you do not apply it correctly. If you want your lipstick to last throughout the day and look flawless then you will have to do a some prep-work.
Here are some tips to keep your lipstick smudge free this fall and winter season.
Step 1: Scrub your Lips: You do not want to apply anything on your lips until you are sure that your lips are smooth. You can purchase a Lip Scrub or you can create your own at home Lip Scrub by mixing a tablespoon of sugar and a drop of either olive oil or coconut oil together and massage on your lips with your finger tips and then gently remove with warm water.
Step 2: Moisturize: Make sure that your lips are completely dry and apply a lip moisturizer.

Step 3: Primer: Seal and prepare your lips by applying a thin layer of a lip primer onto your lips evenly. The primer will maintain the lipstick from smearing or bleeding.

Step 4: Lip Pencil: Choose a lip pencil that can blend in with your lipstick hue. This should be applied first.

Step 5: Lipstick: When applying the lipstick apply the color to the inner line of the lip pencil line without applying the lipstick onto the lip liner. This technique will ensure that the lipstick will not smudge or bleed outside of the lip pencil area.

Step 6: Powder: Blot your lips with a tissue and dab your fingertip into translucent powder and gently dab onto your lips to set the lipstick into place.
