Incorporating adventure and learning opportunities have always been a way to introduce new experiences to my family. Creating memories with my family is important. In the blink of an eye, my little babies are now college students or one step away from entering high school. When the weather is great, we are outdoors exploring. When the weather isn’t so wonderful you can find us indoors. We enjoy visiting new locations that not only provide us a great time but are filled with family bonding moments with a twist of education.
We recently had the opportunity to visit the National Geographic Encounter location in Times Square. When we researched online we immediately knew that it was something we needed to see. Once we arrived at the location you are immediately impressed by all the details just in the lobby area as you are waiting to enter the exhibit.
Once you begin your journey you are guided through a digital underwater dive through the Pacific Ocean. You immediately are introduced to life-size sea life creatures. As you travel through the Pacific Ocean you will interact with so many versions of sea life including sharks up to 20 feet long, a 50-foot Humpback whale, sea lions, and Humboldt squids. You will be fascinated by the beautiful Coral Reef and Giant Kelp species. The entire time you are in the exhibit you will be captivated by the amazing way that the sea mammals keep you wanting more as they make your emotions soar. You will end your trip by visiting the Message in a Bottle art installation.
The exhibit helps support the Pristine Seas Project that promotes critical work of exploring, understanding and protecting our ocean with scientific grants and programs. If you are in town, do not miss the opportunity to visit the exhibit. This exhibit is the next level of entertainment for families and one of a kind. To learn more you can visit NatGeoEncounter.com
